Pension Rahnsdorf am Mggelsee

The little colorful wooden stand out front sells soft-serve, and it’s the best I’ve had anywhere in Berlin 👍👍🍦🍦 The young owner is incredibly friendly, and so are his employees 👍👍 If you love soft-serve, you absolutely have to stop by 😉

The one real plus for us was the Netto supermarket directly across the street, which made it easy to cater for ourselves. There was no breakfast, the conservatory wasn’t working, and the room was tiny even though the photo made it look bigger. Reception was staffed only briefly. It might be more appealing in summer, but we won’t come back this autumn. It’s an option, just not a must-do.

We paid a fair price for two nights without breakfast at this clean, comfortable little guesthouse in east Berlin. Breakfast can be added for an extra charge. The only downside was that the heating didn’t work.

The room was very quiet despite being right on Rahnsdorfer Hauptstraße, and it had what I needed for a simple overnight stay. It was very clean, without unnecessary expensive luxuries, so it’s almost ideal if you’re happy to cater for yourself. Breakfast is available, but you have to order it when booking. A spontaneous order the night before probably won’t work. There may be cheaper places on other booking portals, though I can’t say if their quality is as good. If I’m back in Berlin for a short break after this stay, I’d happily return.
