Premier Inn Berlin City Spittelmarkt

I really enjoyed my stay. The room, breakfast, service, and location were all great. The hotel is near the metro and within walking distance of the city center. The one issue was people smoking right outside the entrance. I don’t smoke, and once, while talking at the desk, the smoke made me feel sick.

The location is good, but the service was not. I left belongings hanging in the wardrobe and emailed the hotel asking them to set them aside for someone to collect. They said nothing had been found, though I know the items were there. I think the staff either stole them or threw them away, which is unacceptable. I know people who’ve had similar things happen in hotels in other countries, and their belongings were always found and returned. On checkout day, the housekeeper came into my room twice without permission or knocking. The first time, I’d already told her I’d leave around 12 PM and she could clean afterward. I’m extremely disappointed and will never return or recommend this hotel to anyone.

The stay was fine and we liked the hotel. It’s huge, with a bar and comfortable seating beside reception. The breakfast restaurant and toilets are downstairs, and we passed through that area twice this morning. The selection was decent. They also offer luggage storage and parking. We picked it for the location near the center. All the interesting sights were within walking distance, so we didn’t need to spend extra on transport. It’s in a quiet area near the metro, and the reception staff rotate and are very nice.

This was my first visit to Germany, and I found a hotel with such good quality that I’ll definitely come back. Everything was excellent.
