The hotel is well located in a lively, nice area with trendy shops nearby. Beyond that, the experience wasn't good. We waited 15 minutes for someone at reception, and when we arrived late there was no food and no suggestion of where to find something. The rooms weren't cleaned and were so noisy that we could hear conversations from the street. A hotel I'd avoid.

The area is great, but the room felt like a lot of pomp with very few amenities, and the price was too much for that. I stayed three nights and the room was never cleaned. There was some ridiculous sign saying they'd only serve you if you wanted to be disturbed. Whether it was out or not, nobody came to clean. Breakfast was skimpy too. The in-room bus tub doesn't help, and the designer trunk in place of a closet isn't useful. They should make a habit of cleaning rooms at least every other day.

The room design was odd and impractical. There's a big wooden bench in the middle, right in front of the bed, so watch your knees. The shower is oddly separated from the toilet, and you need a manual to figure out the tap. It was unpleasantly warm and dry, with no fridge or minibar if you got thirsty. The noisy shower ventilation came on nearly every night and kept us awake for half an hour. The cleaning policy was confusing and frustrating. During our stay, they made the bed only once and didn't leave fresh towels. Contact with staff was limited, and they came across as anonymous and unwelcoming. There isn't a regular reception desk either. We went down to order a drink at the ground floor bar, but nobody was there, so we waited a while and eventually left. The hotel is in a perfect location and has a 'we like to do things our way' attitude. That might be fine, but with so few facilities, poor service, and an overpriced room, it feels pretentious.

It's a well located, modern but dated hostel at best. This four-star 'hotel' is far too expensive for what it offers. We stayed two nights, paying more than for an international five-star hotel nearby. The Weinmeister says it doesn't provide housekeeping for the first two nights for environmental reasons, yet there are huge 80-inch TVs in the rooms that nobody needs. Fresh towels are available every day on request, so the environmental argument doesn't hold up. It just saves staff from making the beds daily. The sheets were dirty when we arrived. Staff seemed annoyed when we asked to have them changed, and when we came back the bed had been made poorly, like in the picture. The tiny bathroom fan was loud, couldn't be switched off, and took more than an hour to stop. The street outside was loud too, and there was no jacuzzi on the roof like the photos showed. Staff were unhelpful and quite rude. When we weren't happy and asked to cancel our reservation, they offered to charge us even more for a so-called upgrade to a bigger room. No thanks. Never again, and not worth the money.
