It’s very crowded, so you might just want to snap a quick photo and head on to the nearby museum or wall remnants. Checkpoint Charlie is now basically a small guard house in the middle of a busy street, but the history behind it is pretty wild. It’s a tourist magnet, but hard to skip when you’re in Berlin.

It was fantastic visiting Checkpoint Charlie on a beautiful sunny day. The Cold War history is fascinating, and the museum exhibits bring that era to life. Just be aware that the memorabilia shops nearby are very expensive.
