The location was great, but the service felt really basic. We spent two nights here in August 2024, and the heat was hard to manage without air conditioning or even window screens. Bees stayed in our room through the day, and mosquitoes came in at night. There was nothing supplied in the room, no shampoo, toothpaste, iron, or anything else. I also asked for an adapter since I’d come from San Francisco, but they didn’t have one. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The view is crazy, and the food’s good too. I’d recommend the Curry wurst! Just to be clear, I haven’t stayed at the hotel.

I visited in 1982 and 83, and the pictures really don’t capture how spectacular the setting and views were. The rooms and hotel were meticulously clean, with the most modern plumbing fixtures I’d ever seen at the time. The owner and staff were friendly and professional.

We liked the food so much that we came back to eat there again on our return trip ten days later. We’d first stopped overnight while traveling from Frankfurt to Italy, and the views and staff were fabulous too.

The terrace is the main attraction, with a fantastic view. The interior feels a bit old fashioned, and the food was OK, nothing special. It seemed touristy, with a rather old clientele, but it’s still worth a visit for a coffee or drink and that view.
