The hosts were excellent, friendly, and very accommodating, and the ingredients were exceptional. I really like the idea of sourcing everything locally or growing it yourselves, and the menu was good and seasonal. But the flavors didn’t come together for me, so I’d give the service five stars and the food three. I went with friends and we had high expectations. Mixing sweet, savory, and sour is an art, and the meal didn’t bring all those great ingredients together into something cohesive. My main course was a bit too salty, and apple salad didn’t go with a heavy steak. In my opinion, simpler but intense flavors would work better here. With a few adjustments, I think it could be perfect.

The dishes are massive for the price, service is really fast, and the atmosphere is nice. It feels like a place mainly for locals, with prices that aren’t too touristy, which may explain why we struggled with the language. If you only speak English and rely heavily on Google Translate like we do, reception inside the restaurant is very poor. The staff know enough English to get by, but communication can be a struggle. Still, five stars from us and highly recommended.

The restaurant was phenomenal, and we had a delicious upscale dinner. We stopped overnight on the way to Austria and found a fantastic little hotel, with warm rooms, comfortable beds, and fast Wi-Fi. Highly recommended.

The owner serves the food himself and carefully explains each dish. The ingredients come from regional suppliers and are organic. Bavarian cuisine at the next level! We have to support people like this.
