The pool and the Finnish and infrared saunas were a welcome extra after a long day walking. They provide towels in the pool area, and you can borrow bathrobes. Dinner isn't served on Wednesdays. We stayed at this friendly, family-run hotel in Bernau Dorf. From our room there was a beautiful view towards Bernau Innerlehen, and the room was tidy, very clean, and fairly modern. The key ring is quite bulky, though. Also, the door doesn't lock from the outside just by closing it, so it's worth locking it at night. The restaurant has lovely decor and a tiled stove to warm up by. Staff were kind, friendly, helpful, and quick to assist. At breakfast they set a basket of buns on the table. It would have been nice if they'd asked how many we wanted or which kind. The buns were small, but tasty and there were enough.

The restaurant was really quiet, with no background music, and the service had an interesting touch: I think the waitress was one of the owners, and she wore traditional German clothing. As for the food, it was great. I had the local fried trout and it was excellent. My partner's sister ordered salmon trout, which was a little confusing since it tasted like salmon even though it was called trout. I'd go for the foamy gentle fried Trout instead. The vegetarian dumplings looked tempting too, served as three triangle-shaped pieces. Gasthaus Löwen gives you a taste of traditional German food and culture.

The stay was wonderful, but the internet was painfully slow. The shower has no door, so water gets out and leaves the floor wet whenever I shower. That feels dangerous in case someone slips.

We felt very comfortable here, thank you! The rooms are lovely, the service is great, and the half-board package includes good food. Parking right at the hotel also made getting around easy. It's cozy, though the sauna and pool aren't ideal and there's no separate place to relax. Still, it works, and the staff will accommodate almost every need.
