Apartment Park Cafe

The restaurant is surrounded by a park and tennis courts, with plenty of free parking. A short walk away there’s a lovely viewpoint looking toward Bernkastel-keus, well worth seeing. Inside, there’s plenty of space between the many tables, lots of pictures from Italy, and a Vespa by the entrance. The staff were polite and left us to enjoy our meal. We had dinner, starting with homemade tagliatelle with chanterelles and chicken in cream sauce. It was heavenly, and the portion was generous, with enough sauce to satisfy anyone. The chanterelles were whole, so there was no question what mushrooms they were. We finished with an affogato, which was just the right size after all that food. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

I’m spending some time at the nearby Reha, so I’ve already been here twice and plan to come back a few more times. The restaurant looks great, and the portions are big and tasty. I was especially impressed by the black pasta with salmon and shrimps, it was so delicious. The service was great too, and the food overall is really good. I’d definitely recommend this place.

The Park Cafe is worth a stop for tiramisu, though watch out for the generous portions, very nice! To get there from the Sky Walk lookout above Bernkastel-Kues, keep going up the forest path, alongside the large Klinic (Clinic), until you spot it.

Across from the forest and its walking paths, we had a fairly pleasant view of the terrace and people passing by. The service was excellent. For lunch I had a mixed salad and minestrone. The salad was good, but the soup was outstanding, packed with big pieces of mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, seedless olives, and artichokes. I’d never had minestrone that delicious. It arrived piping hot, along with two hot yeast rolls.
