I need to change my original review. The landlady is now asking us to pay for a scratched dining table and replace it. We were very careful with the house and don't accept responsibility for the damage. She wasn't there for the final inspection, so we couldn't talk it through with her then. It feels like a scam, and we're very disappointed. Take photos before and after your stay so you don't get an unpleasant surprise. When we arrived, the house was spotless and the landlady handed over the key herself, very kindly. The furnishings suited us well, and we had everything we needed, including freshly made beds, plenty of towels, and lots of dishes, cookware, and cutlery. The outdoor seating was basic but did the job. A grill would've been nice in the lovely weather, if it was safe and wouldn't bother the neighbors. You need a car to get to supermarkets easily. Bernkastel's old town is about 15 minutes away by bike.
