Ferienwohnungen am Stadtpalais

I had a wonderful five-day stay. The apartment itself had a fantastic view of the Moselle, practically new appliances, and everything I needed. I took half a star off because the bathroom had no heating, and there were five spiders and webs on the kitchen ceiling. The grounds could have been better maintained too. There were cobwebs in the stairwell, and it hadn't been vacuumed.

The week was okay, and we still managed to have a nice vacation, but we wouldn’t book here again. The apartment had a lot of little annoyances. The sofa, which was meant to sleep two more people, was broken, and every curtain rod was broken too. The doors squeaked loudly and wouldn't shut properly, waking up your partner at night. We taped over the hallway motion sensor and left the bedroom door open so we wouldn't need to move the doors much, but whenever I turned over in bed, the hall light came on 🤣. The dining table badly needs refinishing because its varnish is soft and sticky. The bathroom was very clean and almost new, but the lighting was far too dim, and the shower temperature couldn't be adjusted. It swung between too hot and suddenly ice cold. The kitchen was also almost new and fairly well equipped, though it lacked a chopping board. The garden seating area for the apartment without a balcony was overgrown and uninviting. Rain and debris made the paving stones between the apartments and parking lot very slippery, and some spots were overgrown too.

The location was fantastic, and parking was behind the house. Arrival and departure were handled professionally with a key safe and detailed emails. The bathroom was pre-heated, which mattered in November, but the living room wasn't, so we spent 10 hours there in our jackets. The internal communication system running alongside Booking.com still needs a lot of improvement. All in all, very good.

It’s a lovely city for strolling around, relaxing, and unwinding.
