Gästehaus am Schlossberg

We stayed in a comfort room, which felt like a high-end apartment and was carefully furnished. It was good value, with a large, luxurious bathroom. The stairs in this lovely old townhouse were wide enough for us and our suitcases. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town, just a minute from shops, cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours. There's also a rotisserie, a high-class restaurant belonging to the hotel. Parking is nearby. Read the host's instructions carefully: driving to the hotel entrance to unload before parking should make it easier. The parking instructions are worth following. Breakfast was okay, though corona rules meant there was no buffet. The filter coffee was very tasty. Nearly all the staff were friendly, helpful and communicative, perhaps with one exception. I can highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Parking is limited, so maneuvering may be difficult when the spaces are full. The stay is somewhat pricey, though the rates are competitive for the area. The guesthouse itself was cozy and well located. Our recently renovated room was roomy, comfortable, modern, and well maintained. We enjoyed staying there.

It's a brilliant place, especially well situated for shopping and eating out. We were glad we brought our travel kettle and mugs, since there were no facilities for making tea or coffee.

That was the best fish soup I've ever had!
