We had a great time here. The place is rural, but it’s an easy drive along the scenic cliffs of the Danube valley to historic Sigmaringen. Our balcony looked out over the spillway on the Danube, and the sound of the water was so calming. A cold beer there at the end of the day was just right.

I’d only booked here because the hotels around the cities were full, but it turned out to be lucky for me. The river and nature sounds, then the stars in the dark, made for a wonderful evening. Morning in the valley was beautiful too, and breakfast was delicious.

It’s such a peaceful spot. I arrived late and hungry after a day on my bike, and they quickly offered me food and drinks. The welcome was great. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

They were very unkind. I can’t comment on the rooms or food, since we were just passing by on bikes. I asked for some water and to use a toilet for my son, but they refused in a really unkind way because they were closed.

Since May 2019, it’s been open only to hotel guests. Kitchen hours are 6 to 8 p.m., and the room rate is a whopping €140 per night. The guest book is filled with explicit site advertisements. Ridiculous.
