The host was quick to respond, spoke good English, and made check-in easy. The room and bathroom were clean, with no crumbs on the table or stray hair in the shower drain. I’d give it two stars for the effort to improve the place. Still, the mattress had a stain and the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke; even a full day of airing it out didn’t help. This is accommodation rather than a hotel, and seems suited to a short stay or young adults who just need somewhere to sleep, not longer visits or families with children. I’d read the Google reviews first, so my expectations were already low.

I got really scared by the men hanging around the building and looking at women who’d booked there in a creepy, inappropriate way. I especially wouldn’t recommend this place to women travelling alone. It wasn’t far from the centre, but the building felt very suspicious. Then I couldn’t find the key in the key box, and the manager, or whoever was responsible, never picked up despite more than 20 calls. More nightmare than hotel.

My room was great, neat and tidy, even though the hallway looks like a disaster. They’ve clearly made changes. If all you need is a bed and bathroom and don’t plan to cook, it’s perfect. Yep, it’s good!

There was no sign of a hotel or reception when we reached the address, and nobody was there. From the other reviews, it seemed we were meant to get a code for a box with our room key. We called several times, but no one answered, and our messages on Booking went unanswered too. Don’t book there, you’ll never get your money back.

We ended up having to find another hotel because we couldn’t get inside. There was no doorbell assigned to the front entrance, and none of the other tenants let us in. We tried calling the number, but nobody answered. So I can’t say whether the hotel itself was any good.
