Landhaus Chlosta

The beach at Rerik or Kühlungsborn is about a 10-minute drive away. On the local roads, drivers with local license plates were very aggressive, and we felt unwelcome. Sadly, that happened every day. We stayed at the Chlosta holiday apartment from September 1st to 7th. The location is quiet, down a cobblestone road through a small forest, and free parking was available outside. The apartment was generally clean, and the property had been very unkempt and didn't match the Booking pictures. At €87 per night for a longer stay, the value wasn't right. The bathroom furniture and living room sofa were worn. Stains beside the stove on the kitchen wall wouldn't come off, and the bathroom towel rack no longer held anything. There was mold visible on some shower doors. The bedroom mattress sagged, was partly broken, and uncomfortable. We knew towels weren't provided, but hadn't expected there to be no shower mat. A small rug or mat would've helped avoid cold tiles under wet feet. The apartment smelled strongly of damp. The landlord said it was because of the clay walls, and we had to leave the windows open all the time to feel comfortable. We didn't use one room and kept its door open. On departure day, taking our empty suitcases out of that room made the strong smell obvious compared with the aired room. We won't be coming back, though others can decide for themselves based on what we've written.

Udo and Beate made our Baltic Sea holiday one of our best. They're warm, funny, thoughtful, and really care about how guests are doing. We stayed in the upper-floor "apartment" and loved it. It was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. When we noticed on day two that the TV picture was too dark, they quickly brought us a high-quality replacement. Our son loved the long tree swing in the garden, and the two ponies, Lena and Meika, and donkey, Gregor, were just a few steps away. They came to be fed each morning and evening, and the hosts let us parents get close enough to watch too. Rerik beach was around a 10-minute drive, and Kühlungsborn a little under 20 minutes. If being a five-minute walk from the beach isn't essential, we can wholeheartedly recommend staying here. Thanks again, you two sweethearts. We'll definitely return. Warm regards from Magdeburg.

The landlords are really nice, and the place has everything you could want. If you haven't visited yet, it's absolutely worth the trip.

We love coming back to this wonderful place each year, and we've been guests for six years now. The hosts are so welcoming, and the apartments are cozy and always spotless. Our children adore Gregor the donkey. We'll be back next year, that's a promise!
