The room itself was average, though the bed was large and comfortable. In the bathroom, there were dark marks on the shower floor, a yellowed curtain, a slightly damaged shower head, and a sink light that didn't work. It felt as if maintenance had been neglected. There was no breakfast, which was disappointing given that there's a restaurant in the building. I needed a room for a four-night business stay at the Friedrich von Schiller Hotel, and this is just my personal experience. Before arriving on Sunday, I tried to confirm check-in times and ask whether there was a key safe, since my colleague had booked for me. I made eleven calls over three days and sent emails on the Monday and Wednesday before arrival, with no reply. Someone finally answered on my twelfth call. Some calls came from a blocked number, which is my default setting. When I asked about that, I was told, “Anyone with a blocked number is a scammer.” I also asked why visible-number calls and emails had gone unanswered and was told they were having health issues. It seemed like one person was handling all the organization and communication, which is hard to understand for a hotel. When I arrived on Sunday, the restaurant staff were very friendly, and I appreciated that. Finding my room was chaotic: the keys apparently had all been left together, unsorted. It took several phone calls, and the first room I entered hadn't been cleaned. After more searching, they found an available room. The restaurant staff were friendly, but the organization and communication had serious problems, and the room had clear bathroom issues. I wouldn't book this hotel again.

The quiet location meant we slept well, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was cozy and clean, and the hotel has a lot of charm. We were looking for somewhere near the city center and felt a bit unsure at first, but ended up pleasantly surprised. It's family-run and has a personal feel. We'd definitely come back.

A friendly gentleman who was still working helped me get oriented and showed me everything. My room was lovely, quiet, spotless, and had everything I could need. Finding the place was a bit of a challenge: first you have to locate the nearby parking garage, then go around the corner from the building to find the entrance. Once you're there, though, it's well worth it. Highly recommended 😉

The lack of direct parking is a small downside, but the nearest public garage is only about 200 meters away, so the walk was manageable. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, even with unusual requests. The rooms are tastefully furnished, clean, and well kept, with lovely views and thoughtful touches. I even found pieces of a suit of armor in my room, very cool! It's a very nice hotel right in the heart of Bietigheim, and a great recommendation for anyone wanting to explore the city up close.
