The lamb was juicy and cooked just right, with gnocchi, olives, and sun-dried tomatoes that worked really well together. We also had the tomato salad, which was delicious. Jagdhaus Waldfrieden – Siegmund Baierle has a welcoming, rustic feel, and Tanja was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed dinner there.

The building felt magical, and we even got a little snow the next morning. The room was cozy and spacious enough, with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and the service was great. Staff were super friendly, and our dog got a towel for his paws, bowls, and a small food present. The hotel sits by a little forest that was ideal for a short walk. We enjoyed our stay and can only recommend it.

The place is lovely, and we've enjoyed coming here with our family for years. For Grandpa's birthday lunch this time, though, the food wasn't as good as we remembered, and that was true for all eight of us. It seems they have a new Chef. There was also a service issue: the new personnel didn't seem as well trained. It used to be old-fashioned, but the food was absolutely excellent. I'm not sure we'll come back for the next birthday lunch.

After I confirmed by email that I'd take the room they said was available, I heard nothing back. I called to ask about it, but the lady I spoke with wouldn't speak English or take down my details or look them up from my first request. She told me to email again, then hung up. Very impolite, even rude.

The hotel is in the woods, and breakfast was great, with a wide selection of local food. The dinner menu is small on Mondays and Tuesdays.
