The hotel is family-owned, and the rooms are clean, newly renovated, and very nice. They provide complimentary water, tea, and coffee, and breakfast is excellent at an extra 15 euro per person. It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac, very close to the main attractions, with a couple of restaurants offering good dinner after a castles visit. There’s no receptionist after 6 pm, so read the messages from Mr.Shryger,the owner of the hotel on your booking. They explain how to get both the front door key and the room key. I didn’t get the instructions from Expedia, so Mr. Shryger had to come from home at 8 pm on his day off to let my wife and me in and check us in. He wasn’t very happy about the situation, but the customer service was superb, and we really appreciate his effort. I had to knock at the hotel next door to get in touch with him.

There’s a fuelling station with a bakery and supermarket not far away, and the cable car is also fairly close. It’s a great place to stay when visiting the castles, which I highly recommend. We didn’t eat at the hotel because there was a pizza place next door, an Asian restaurant, and other restaurants nearby.

The location is good, with a brewery and lake within walking distance. Rooms are small and hot, but clean, and the bed wasn’t that great. Breakfast was decent. Good enough for an overnight stop on a road trip.

The staff are only on site for three hours a day, but they were friendly. Our family room was extremely spacious, with three bedrooms and a patio looking out at Neuschwanstein Castle. Yes, it really does have that view. The bathroom was massive, with a shower, tub, and two sinks.
