The food was good, typical regional fare. The landlady had hairy teeth.

We went for a meal with a group. The food was okay, and the older man and woman were pleasant and clearly doing their best. The woman who brought our food was friendly too. The service overall, though, was very unfriendly. The place itself felt very old and kitschy.

We're from Saxony, and had promised the kids a proper Bavarian restaurant experience when we visited on a Sunday with our bikes. We got exactly that, and it was excellent. The welcome and treatment of children were so good that the rest of Germany could take a lesson. The value for money in Bischofsmais is hard to beat, and this restaurant is part of that. We booked Bischofsmais again yesterday for the winter holidays. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

The beer garden schnitzel is well worth recommending. The staff were friendly, the food delicious, and the prices excellent for what you get. I'd gladly come back anytime.
