Set in the beautifully maintained Baroque garden, the Princess Tower is a striking remnant of the old city wall and gives the place a distinctive atmosphere. The little holiday home isn’t wheelchair accessible. Its charming look draws photographers and visitors who enjoy it as a popular subject.

We’ve already booked another stay for April because we felt so comfortable here, and we’ll definitely recommend the place. The apartment is beautiful, set in the romantic castle park in Blankenburg, with a view across all of Blankenburg from the bedroom. The bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom are arranged over three floors, and the lovely furnishings made us feel like lord and lady of the castle. A very nice lady handed us the key at the tea house, which made us chuckle because it wouldn’t exactly fit in a pocket! 😂 A couple of things could be better: there were hairs in the shower, and pepper, salt, and sugar would have been useful to have provided. Otherwise, everything was great. We’re looking forward to coming back. Keep it up! 😍

On our departure day, we went to the romantic spa, where we were allowed to stay a little longer than the half hour allotted. It was wonderfully relaxing. We were welcomed warmly, and bad weather meant we could check in early. The first morning, breakfast was brought right to the tower, which was fantastic; the next day we ate at the hotel. Our two nights were in the Princess Tower, which belongs to the Fürstenhof spa hotel. The walk there is quite manageable. We weren’t sure about the bus times, but the hotel staff helped us out really well when we asked. A lovely little place, a wonderful hotel, and helpful staff. Everything was perfect.

I booked the tower as a little honeymoon present for my wife, and she was absolutely delighted. We could add flowers, decorations, or a bottle of sparkling wine to the booking for a reasonable price. Parking nearby at the Oberen Mühle (Upper Mill) made it easy to explore Blankenburg and the charming area around it. We had a delicious, leisurely breakfast at the Oberen Mühle the next morning, and the owners were very pleasant to deal with. The tower sits in a beautiful old park, in a secluded spot between the Great Castle and the Little Castle. The view over Blankenburg is breathtaking, and the furnishings are charming and just right for the space. For me, this is the best vacation rental we’ve stayed in, a hidden gem in the Harz Mountains with excellent value for money. Ever wanted to be a prince or princess? Here’s your chance!
