The staff are nice, and the breakfast room is lovely. Breakfast itself was really good too, especially the scrambled eggs and choice of cheeses. The rooms, though, aren't especially comfortable.

A great hotel. The only issue is the poor Wi-Fi.

The free parking and surprisingly good breakfast were pluses, and both the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The bed, though, had definitely seen better days. Reception service was non-existent. Even with the restaurant closed, it would have been basic courtesy to help hungry guests returning from biking or hiking find somewhere to eat, even just by arranging a table reservation, especially since many other places in town were closed too. A single sentence in the confirmation email saying they'd sorted something out in advance would have been enough. Feedback reception was nonexistent as well. What a shame!

I had dinner at the Kölner Hof on Friday, May 6th. The decor was dated, and unfortunately the food was well below par. We definitely won't eat there again. It's a shame that so many hotel and restaurant owners, even in Germany, don't seem to understand that good food is what makes people want to return. We're not coming back.
