Excelsior

Parking was tight: one night I had to leave the car around the corner because there was no space at the hotel or on the street. The corridors are dark, so bring a torch if you’ll be coming in after hours. The hotel itself is very well maintained, and breakfast is good, with some hot choices like scrambled eggs, Nuremburg sausages, bacon at times, and a meatball or frickadellan, along with the usual cold items. The room was a pleasant surprise: large and comfortable, with plenty of space, a safe, wardrobe with a hairdryer, suit hanger, desk/TV stand, refrigerator, and a table with two chairs. The curtains are very thin and could be better. It’s a good three-star hotel, but the stairs all over the place make it unsuitable for people with mobility impairments. It doesn’t look especially attractive from outside, and the layout feels like something that wouldn’t be built today. Reception closes by 11pm, possibly earlier, and after that you need a key to enter the building. It’s an old-fashioned key, not a card.
