The buffet was excellent, though the coffee tasted too bitter for us, so the cappuccino and latte macchiato came across too strong. In the room, the bed was very comfortable and both the shower and bathroom were great, except that shower water somehow ran out into the bathroom. The room itself was exceptional. All in all, a wonderful hotel.

The receptionist from Greece really tried to help when I asked to check in early. Check-in was meant to be at 15.00, but she managed to get me a room at 10.30. Those little things are why I won't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm in Bochum. Top service.

The biggest issue for me was breakfast. We found a table that hadn't been wiped, with no cutlery, and staff didn't come over unless called. They serve eggs, but you have to ask for a spoon. At the bar, service was slow and unfriendly, and it took ages for the bill to be worked out. The room looked like a nursing home, and the hotel had a very 80s style. We stayed one night for 180€ including breakfast, which felt extremely overpriced. The receptionist was nice when we arrived, and we got our keycards without a problem. We went out to get ready for STARLIGHT EXPRESS (see it if u can), then returned, stopped at the bar, and eventually slept. It's probably fine for a few nights if you're not sensitive or impatient, but how does this place have 4 stars?

The rooms have plenty of air, and the area has good air quality, but the air exchange rate isn't enough. It needs an ACH system running 24/7 that could use little or no power. We plan to visit this hotel in the area again.
