Hotel Restaurant Bürgerhaus Niesky

A good spot.

The breakfast spread was excellent, especially the fresh sausage from the butcher. Dinner at the restaurant was tasty and fairly priced, and the staff were friendly there too. The rooms are small, but very clean and well looked after.

We stayed for two nights, and the double room was roomy and thoughtfully set up, with a wardrobe, hooks on the wall, a shoehorn, and bottled water provided. The bed was comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. Closing the windows kept outside noise barely audible. The bathroom is entirely plastic, which I think works well for hygiene, and it was just as clean as the rest.

We planned on staying four nights, but left after one because we felt so uncomfortable. I really can't recommend this "accommodation." The room looked extremely dated, as though the furniture hadn't changed in 30 years, and the plastic bathroom was the worst part. It felt like being in a portable toilet, which I find unacceptable at this price. The door and walls didn't block much sound, either. From 6:30 a.m. there was a lot of noise, with many construction workers staying there and being quite loud. We didn't try breakfast, so I can't say anything about it. In my view, the "hotel" badly needs renovating.
