The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the indoor and outdoor pools and several saunas were all spotless and well kept. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the Sky Pool was amazing. My only gripes were that the beds weren’t especially comfortable and the pillows left me wishing I’d brought my own. Still, it was a great one-night stay with the love of my life.

The Bergknappenhof is a peaceful place to relax, in a lovely spot that’s still only a short walk from the railway station, shops, and tourist attractions. It’s quiet enough to sleep well even with the windows open. The Wellness Area is phenomenal, spotless, beautifully maintained, and very well equipped. The new Sky Pool is amazing. The food is top quality, with a huge range for every taste and wonderful presentation and flavour. There’s plenty to do nearby too. I loved hiking around Bodenmais, including walks to Großer Arber, Silberberg, and other local summits. I also spent a day on the forest trails near Bayerisch Eisenstein, on both sides of the border with Czechia. All of this would mean little without the hard work of the GREAT Bergknappenhof team. Every single person works tirelessly to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. They really are an exceptional group. The Bergknappenhof is a great choice, and I highly recommend it.
