It was okay.

It's our first stay here, and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean and spacious, with typically Bavarian decor that feels cozy. The central location is convenient without being noisy or uncomfortable. This could be a hidden gem in Bodenmais.

The location and parking are fantastic, so maybe we'll give this place another chance. But we were disappointed with our three-night stay at this “hotel.” We expected a clean room and dinner, yet there was a sign each day saying it was their day off. We took that to mean they probably no longer have a chef, and it's a shame this wasn't mentioned when we booked. We had to eat out every night. Breakfast was a small, limited buffet with plenty of room to improve. The shower grout was black with mold, which was disgusting, and there was a strong urine smell, especially in the evenings. That's unacceptable. The rooms are dated, which alone wouldn't bother us, but they were very dirty, and the negative cleanliness reviews were unfortunately accurate. If you don't expect much, the accommodation may be adequate.

A nice central spot for a short stay, with restaurants close by. The hotel is showing its age and could use some improvements, though the sauna was very nice. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
