Montara Suites Bodenmais

Montara Suites has a wonderful view across the town, as it sits on a hillside at the edge of Bodenmais. There are only a limited number of medium and large apartments, making it a good fit for families or anyone after some peace and quiet. The apartments have been updated to current standards, while keeping a lovely mix of Bavarian country charm and modern comforts. The house itself has been renovated with a lot of attention to detail. Communication was warm from the first contact. Karin was lovely and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed, along with plenty of helpful tips for our stay. One day she even left cake at our door!

The Montara team can arrange bread delivery if you ask. Service is first-class, and the rooms are stylish and bigger than the typical holiday apartments in the area. The place sits high above Bodenmais, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.

The Montara Alm was peaceful and spotlessly clean, though the log cabin really is tiny. The mattresses need replacing, and the TV is so small that you have to sit in the dining area to watch it. There’s no safety railing between the sleeping loft and the cabin, so it isn’t suitable for small children.

We had some lovely, relaxing winter days here. Uwe and Oliver are fantastic hosts and clearly care a lot about the property. Everything feels thought through, and they even welcomed us with two beers in the fridge. Uwe also treated us to homemade cake. The rooms have everything you need, and the bathrooms are modern and well maintained. We highly recommend it for a great getaway.
