Hotel Boizenburger Hof

The location was the one good thing. A child who didn’t seem to know their way around greeted us, and the room was very shabby. The hairdryer was broken, and the toilet flushed whenever it wanted. We also couldn’t arrange breakfast for the next morning that evening. We won’t return.

After we booked, the owner contacted us to say there was no hot water, which we would have been fine with. But soon after, Booking.com canceled our reservation, citing “overbooking.” Then the hotel said the sewage system was out too. It felt like a series of excuses to get rid of guests. The whole thing was extremely unprofessional and unreliable. We strongly advise against booking here.

From the afternoon we arrived until we left the next day, we didn’t see any staff at all, so there was no service. Breakfast wasn’t available, even though I’d specifically asked for it when booking, and the rooms were quite run-down. We were greeted at the “hotel” by temporary staff, a child and a man. You expect something different from a hotel. Very disappointing.

We felt comfortable and well looked after here. The room was spacious and very quiet despite facing the main road, and everything was very clean. There was secure bike storage, chilled beer, and a really good breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful too. What more could you ask for?
