The breakfast was very good, and we had an excellent dinner at a local German restaurant. We stayed in a convent, but our room was far from austere, with Louis 14th-style decor finished to a high standard. It’s a peaceful place with beautiful surroundings. I’d recommend staying a night if you’re passing through.

The monastery garden is fantastic, and the Nativity Trail is lovely even in summer. There’s also a great café with delicious cakes. Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy yourself.

I got a really good night’s sleep here. It’s an old monastery, not a new building, and I liked its rustic feel. My room in the San Domiano building was clean, and breakfast was adequate. The water takes a while to heat up, though that comes with an old building. After reception closed, someone helped me with the map and showed me how to find my way around. I didn’t have enough time to see everything, but the murals and exhibits were interesting. There’s plenty of parking on the grounds, and a glass elevator. I appreciated the quiet, without a TV, bar, slot machines, or other bustle.
