Hotel Bonn City

The room was clean, breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right in the city center. Both ladies on staff were great and helped me with whatever I needed. I’ll come back next time I’m in Bonn.

We had a good stay and everything worked out well. The rooms were clean but very small, and I thought the price was a bit high for what you got. The all-female staff were kind and accommodating. We were there for the marathon. Breakfast was limited and small, but we managed.

I had no problems or mishaps during my stay at Hotel Bonn City, and I’m very satisfied. The room was clean, comfortable, and well organized. Breakfast was delicious, and the location made getting around really convenient. I’ll put this hotel at the top of my list for my next business trip.

I was very disappointed by this experience. In all my years as a travel agent and staying in hotels around the world, I’ve never had this happen. I won’t send anyone here. We arrived after calling two days earlier, but when I tried to call again about an emergency, the answering service picked up and the person couldn’t speak English. I needed to leave two days early. When I finally reached someone the day before we went, she said she had to check with the owner because the cancellation fee was 90 percent. I didn’t really cancel, though. I arrived the first night, explained the situation, and left the next morning. She said she’d try to rent the room, but the hotel was hardly full and I didn’t think that would happen. I offered to pay 50 percent because I felt the full charge was unfair. She wouldn’t budge and charged me for all three nights, even though I stayed one. I expected more from a small business run by women. There’s no elevator, so you have to carry luggage up the stairs. Someone did help carry ours up and down the night we arrived, but this place may not work for elderly or disabled guests. There’s also no one at the desk after 3 o’clock. They have an emergency number, but the person answering doesn’t speak English, which isn’t good for American tourists who don’t speak German. You have to get your key from a box and let yourself into the hotel, which felt very unsafe to me.
