We came back the next night and enjoyed another lovely meal, just as we had the first evening. I was there with a large group on a singing tour, and Freddy Franke suggested putting on a barbecue for just 10 euros per person. What a feast, the meat and salads kept coming and everyone ate more than enough. Hotel-Restaraunt Zur Reblaus is a small family-run local place tucked up a side road between the Gasthaus and Hotel Rheinlust, with a warm welcome and really tasty local food. If you’re visiting Boppard on the Rhein and want somewhere beyond the obvious tourist restaurants, give Restaurant Zur Reblaus a try. You won’t be disappointed.

The food was fantastic, the prices more than reasonable, and there are regional wines for every taste. The Rhine is about 150 meters away, and the owner goes out of his way to make sure guests feel at ease, from the cozy rooms onward. It’s not a luxury hotel with a pool and spa, but it offers real warmth and an appreciation for life’s little pleasures, more than just a family atmosphere. This was my first visit, and definitely not my last.

We only came across the restaurant by chance while walking down the alley, and at first we hesitated because the restaurant in Hotel zur Reblaus was completely empty. We decided to try it on the spur of the moment, and the food turned out absolutely delicious. There was some waiting, but it was well worth it. Vegetarian options were rather limited, though the vegetarian casserole was fantastic and highly recommended.

Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and the place seems especially suitable if you're coming for a seminar or training course. I managed to find somewhere to stay at short notice, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I'd happily stay here again.

The owners were lovely, always ready to help and really attentive. We had a cozy, beautiful room with a great terrace, and breakfast was a treat in the charming little vaulted cellar. Such a nice stay.
