The new owners are upgrading this nice old hotel as they go. They're friendly and speak German and English, and breakfast is good. It's easy to get into downtown Boppard, with public parking available. The hotel is on the Rhine.

The room has a classic style and feels a little old, but those big windows looking out toward the Rhine are a real plus. Great location, and breakfast is included, so it's a nice place to stay.

We stayed two nights, and if we'd found another place, we would've left after the first, even though we'd paid. We tried breakfast on the first morning, but nothing had been prepared, so we skipped it the next day. We had the corner room on the second floor. The shower head was broken and the drain blocked, the door handle was coming off, and there was only one tiny bar of soap for two people for two days. The gaps around the windows had never been finished, and the bedding was awful and old. The two plastic bedside lamps looked like they came from a 1 euro shop, and the dusty plastic rose in a vase was the icing on the cake. This is hostel accommodation at best and badly needs maintenance. Never again.
