The apartment was in a very disappointing state. There was mold in the shower, dirt on the balcony and in the cupboards and drawers, grime under the beds, a filthy microwave we couldn’t use, and stains on the sofa that we couldn’t identify. The pleated blinds were broken, too. Worst of all, in the “children's room,” electrical tape was holding the slatted bed base to the frame, and it still wouldn’t stay in place. We reported everything that same weekend to the rental agency, which still hasn’t replied. The landlords offered a voucher for another booking, but given the condition of the apartment, that wasn’t something we’d accept. They also wouldn’t cooperate when we asked for part of the payment back in cash. This is a holiday apartment owned by the Andressen family. I can’t recommend it, and the landlords’ uncooperative response is why I’m leaving a negative review. Dear Andressen family, please look at the law: Sections 651m Paragraph 2 and 346 Paragraph 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB), or Sections 651h and 346 Paragraph 1 of the German Civil Code (BGB). Under those laws, tenants are entitled to a refund of the money paid to the tour operator and don’t have to accept a voucher.

This is our second stay here, and we’d happily come back again. The balcony gets lovely sunshine and is a great spot for breakfast or relaxing 🌞. Inside, everything is coordinated, beautifully furnished, and spotless. The bathroom is lovely, with a big rain shower, and the toilet is separate. My only small suggestions are blinds and fly screens for the windows and balcony door. I’d move in here in a heartbeat. Best regards 🤗.

It’s a good holiday apartment with all the essentials. My main issue is the parking: there’s no space at the apartment, just a small public lot opposite with about 16 spaces. If you’re unlucky, it may be full, and parking elsewhere in Braunlage isn’t easy. That should be made clear in the listings.

You’ll find what you need there, but remember to bring your own bedding.
