Haus Daheim

We've been back to this guesthouse at least 10 times since 2015, and that says a lot about how much we enjoy staying here. The welcome is always friendly and the service excellent. Rooms are roomy and comfortable, and breakfast is nicely laid out. It's handy being able to make coffee or tea whenever we feel like it. We always look forward to coming back.

We've already booked for next year and are looking forward to it. Haus Daheim was a lovely place to stay, with a kind and friendly hostess. Our room had a comfortable double bed, a TV and sitting area, and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was beautifully arranged, with plenty of delicious choices to start the day.

The price suited us well, and we were generally well looked after. Our room was tidy, the bed comfortable, and the landlady very friendly. Breakfast was okay, though the rolls were a little too pale. I can only speak about our room on the top floor: the smaller upstairs bathroom was generally clean, but the shower grout and silicone sealant were black with mold, and parts of the toilet seat were swollen. Those things would need attention for me to give five stars.

The owner gave us such a warm welcome, and we felt very welcome throughout. When we asked about breakfast time, she said we could have it whenever we wanted. We could also say what kind of rolls we preferred, and she asked about allergies and intolerances. Breakfast is the only meal served, but that suited us since we were out during the day and often in the evening too. Drinks were available, and paying by EC or Visa card was easy. Haus Daheim feels like a little insider tip in Braunlage: it's tucked on a side street but still central. The rooms are large, clean, and tidy, with parking right outside. We'd love to stay again.
