Hotel Schneiderhof

We were two friends from Sweden on a motorcycle holiday, and they made us feel welcome. The entrance was locked when we arrived, but we rang the bell and a couple came to let us in. They were very nice. We got a big room, No. 1A, I think, newly renovated with a really nice large bathroom. There was no dinner service when we stayed in early June, but they sent us to Hotel Rust 300 meters down the street, which worked fine. Breakfast the next day was good, with scrambled eggs but no bacon. The owners said they’d had the hotel for a year and renovated it. We were very happy with our stay.

We toured the Harz Mountains from May 1st to 3rd with four Harleys and stayed at the Schneiderhof in Braunlage. Kai came straight from his terrace to greet us as if we’d known each other for years, showed us where to park, and immediately offered us a beer and a garage for the bikes. That warm, genuine welcome carried on throughout our stay. Kai was always available, and his whole team was just as friendly. You can tell they host with heart. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, well equipped, and excellent. Breakfast was delicious, and the location worked perfectly for our day trips around the Harz Mountains. We wholeheartedly recommend the place to biker bros and sis looking for relaxed, welcoming, biker-friendly accommodation. There’s a very good chance we’ll stay again on our next Harz tour. The family room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was a highlight, especially the fried eggs. We had a wonderful stay and everything felt just right. We'd happily come back.

Getting to nearby towns takes a bit of planning. The bus only comes every two hours and doesn't run very late, though a car or bicycle makes it manageable. The hotel itself is lovely, with very friendly, helpful hosts and a room that fit two adults and a child perfectly. Breakfast is well worth having. We'll be back.
