Best Western City-Hotel Braunschweig

Book parking ahead of time. The check-in was easy, the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Really good hotel and location.

I was there for business and would be happy to return. The rooms were clean, the service was nice, and the location was central. Breakfast was very good too.

Room 103 needs attention: the TV was tiny, a screw head stuck out of the bathroom wall, and the reading light didn’t work. The room felt dated. Noise was the bigger problem, though. The hallway and stairs to the bar barely block sound, so I could hear noise until about 11 p.m. The breakfast kitchen beside the room started banging cupboard doors and making compressor noise and vibrations from 5:30 a.m. At check-in I was told breakfast wasn’t included in my rate, but I was able to show that it was. The next day, another guest seemed to think his breakfast was included too, then agreed to pay €20 extra, apparently without checking. I don’t know if that was a coincidence. I don’t feel a need to return, and I’d definitely avoid room 103. Check carefully so you aren’t charged twice for breakfast.

Getting around was easy from this apartment-style room, with public transport, the center, restaurants, and shops nearby. I stayed three nights and found it okay, though the bed bounced too much for me and I didn’t sleep very well.
