Hotel Am Wasser

The dessert was good, but the main course was far too plain and had nothing special about it. When it began raining, we waited half an hour before anyone did anything. The woman in charge was also very rude when we asked if we could sit outside while staying out of the rain.

The hotel is in a good, accessible spot, with clean surroundings and almost right by the beach. There's a huge parking lot, and I parked just outside my room. The restaurant was cozy, with very good food, especially the fish soup and other fish mains. Restaurant staff were friendly and service was quick. Communication was the biggest drawback. Most staff, including reception, spoke only German, so getting by in English was a challenge. Everyone tried hard to understand, though, and we always managed somehow. It may be a regional issue rather than just this hotel. My room was clean and fairly cozy, and fine for the time I spent there, but the bed didn't suit me for some reason. I woke up several times each night. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, which I hadn't expected, and mobile reception was so weak I could only get an EDGE connection. I went to the restaurant to use its Wi-Fi. They should extend coverage to more areas. Apart from the poor Wi-Fi and difficulty communicating in English, I liked the hotel.

Breakfast was really tasty, served in a nicely decorated orangery. The rooms felt fresh and clean, with comfortable beds, and the view was beautiful, with the soothing sound of rustling trees. Standard ****.

Everything was very clean, and breakfast and dinner service was fast and spotless, with waiters keeping an eye out for customers. The rooms and their layout felt a bit dated, and the shower was old-fashioned.
