Erzgebirgsidyll

The whirlpool and log cabin sauna were the best parts of our long weekend at the White Forest House. Both were excellent for unwinding. The house itself let us down. It was sparsely furnished and dated, the beds were really hard, and the bunk bed felt very unsteady. The kitchen and bathroom were small, though usable. We also found lots of posted rules around the house, with extra charges mentioned for things you weren't supposed to do. That didn't make for a relaxing feel. The stay was okay in the end, but we wouldn't come back. The extra costs were the biggest problem. At booking the price looked reasonable, but later we learned electricity was €0.49 per kWh and a box of firewood cost €12. In winter, heating only with the fireplace is practically impossible, so we had to use the expensive electric heaters. In reality, you'd need to allow another €30-40 a day for electricity and firewood.

The cottages are clean, tidy, and charmingly set up, and the staff are very friendly, doing their best to handle requests quickly. With no light pollution, it's a lovely place to relax and watch the stars. You can walk the three kilometers to Breitenbrunn or take a longer hike into the Czech Republic. In winter, the wood stove makes the cottage cozy, and there's a Schwibbogen in each one.

We felt so at ease here and had a wonderful time. The staff are incredibly friendly 🍀 We enjoyed it so much and would love to return 🥰😇🧚‍♀️

We had such a good time at Camping Erzgebirgsidyll, it really suits families. The grounds are beautiful in the forest and great for kids, with everything you need already there. You feel comfortable right away, and we'd be happy to come back!
