I was in town for Unisee parkrun, just about 650m from the hotel entrance, so that worked out perfectly. I expected the 11am checkout to be an issue, but it wasn’t, and I left half an hour before it. The bar was great, dinner pizza was good, and the staff were excellent. The places I used were clean and well maintained, though there were other facilities I didn’t have time to try. I enjoyed the old-fashioned feel, in a good way, and I’m grateful to the team for making it a pleasant one-night stay.

We came for the indoor pool and sauna, and they were very nice. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, too, and the room was clean. We were pleased with our stay and will return.

The small spa is worth checking out. It was very clean and laid out in a way that made it feel more spacious. The rooms and amenities were clean and nicely decorated, and we felt well looked after thanks to helpful service at every hour. Public transport access is a little limited, though still acceptable. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel.

Everything else was fine, but the air conditioning wasn’t working in the hotel, including the restaurant and breakfast area. We had to sleep with the window open. We’d booked two rooms and cancelled one two days beforehand, but were charged for it even though nobody used it. Reception confirmed they had to charge for that room and couldn’t refund us.

The wellness area was outstanding, a lovely place to unwind after a quiet walk around Bürgerpark or Unisee. I also really enjoyed the restaurant, with amazing food and attentive, friendly service. Coming from the same industry, I know that kind of experience is becoming rare. The stay exceeded what I expected, and I’d recommend it highly.
