Parkhotel Bremen

We had a lovely honeymoon night, with pretty decorations and a few complimentary extras. You can really feel that guests and their requests are welcome here. The hotel has a huge gym and a luxurious spa and wellness area, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of gluten-free choices. On our previous visit in May, the staff and chefs seemed better informed about dairy options at the restaurant. This time, several people were wearing clothes in the sauna. When we mentioned it to them, they said nobody had told them the rules. We love visiting Bremen and spending time at this hotel. It was an amazing stay.

The rooms are to a great standard, service was good, and parking was easy with lots of spaces. We drove an electric car, but couldn't find any information on the hotel's website about charging. There are two chargers, and it would be useful to expand their number and make the information easier to find, since that matters to EV guests. The salon and bar could use updated furniture. The neon lights also give the area a somewhat cheap feel.

The lake in front of the hotel is beautiful, and the location is lovely. It's a convenient place to stop when driving through Germany. We came back for a second visit after our first stay, around Covid, was a bit lacklustre for reasons that weren't the hotel's fault. This time we enjoyed it and would most likely return. Our room was a good size with a very comfortable bed, but the bathroom was tiny and not very good. The room was extremely hot, so we had to keep the window open, which helped. There wasn't any complimentary water or anything else in the room, something I'd expect at a great hotel. The public areas were lovely but hot too, so we chose to eat on the terrace. Dinner was nice, though somewhat overpriced. Breakfast had a great selection and we enjoyed it, but the coffee could be better. In our opinion, the hotel presents itself as five-star but is really four-star. The staff would need to be much more attentive, and the waiters more knowledgeable and on the ball, for it to feel five-star. It was a good stay, just don't expect five-star luxury or service.

We enjoyed the sauna and pool, and our lake-view room was beautiful with a really comfortable bed. The heating wasn't working properly, which made the room pretty hot, but it wasn't a big deal for us. I stayed at Dorint Park Hotel for two nights, and it was an excellent experience.
