The host made us feel very welcome, and he’s a winegrower too. We had a fine Riesling from his vineyard on the picturesque veranda, slept well, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

Breakfast isn’t included in the already high price, which I find unacceptable. Guesthouse Christiane is definitely overpriced. The house has a musty smell, and the rooms have very old furniture. The bathroom barely deserves the name, especially with the toilet in room 3 urgently needing replacement. The bath mat and towels are frayed in places. I can’t recommend this accommodation.

The room was clean, but bring your own toiletries. Breakfast at Haus am Wald was decent, though expensive. I’d rather get breakfast at a bakery.

I’ve stayed here for years, and I was back again two weeks ago. The guesthouse is clean, the hosts are really friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast has everything I could want. I’ll be back again.

Several hiking routes begin right outside the door, including one to Ehrenburg Castle, and it’s only a few minutes on foot to the Moselle. The guesthouse sits at the end of Brodenbach on a cul-de-sac, so I’d recommend it if you’re travelling by car. My room was a little dark, but fine otherwise for a weekend. They apparently even provide daily housekeeping.
