The restaurant was OK, though nothing worth making a detour for. Without that, this would have been zero stars. Our room was so tiny we had to put the suitcase on the bed to open it, the elevator was out of order, and the service could’ve been better. I was disappointed and won’t book here again.

Free parking was a nice extra, and the room had everything I needed, including a Nespresso capsule coffee machine. It was spacious, and check-in and checkout were quick. The staff were friendly. This is a very good four-star hotel and excellent value for money in Brunswick, near the exit on the city’s northeastern side.

We’ve now changed our minds after staying again: 3/5, and we won’t be back. They’ve started charging for extras. I booked through a third party and only then found out that the cot and sofa bed cost extra, despite booking and paying for a family room with both. Parking now costs extra too, even in an unsecured car park, which really rubs me up the wrong way. The charges are on the hotel website, but third parties hide them in the small print or don’t tell customers at all. €10 for a cot isn’t the end of the world, but €25 just to put bedding on a sofa is a joke. On our first stay I rated it 4.5/5. We used it because it’s conveniently about halfway between our home in England and our destination in Poland. The room was large, perfectly adequate, a bit dated, and immaculately clean. It worked for our family of four with two little ones. If I remember right, the cot was free then, which was a nice touch, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Service was great and it felt like excellent value. The hotel is 10 or 15 minutes off the highway, but we don’t mind going a little off the beaten track for good value. Breakfast looked nice as we passed in the morning, but it cost too much for an overnight stop and there wasn’t a cheaper option. We were due to stay again a few nights later, and I’d planned to book for both journeys when we returned to Poland in the summer.

The room was clean and had what I needed, at a very reasonable price. I only stayed the night and left so early that I didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t give a meaningful rating. I didn’t see a reason to take off any stars.
