It’s nice there, but it feels like one person is left to look after the whole place. She’s Ukrainian and doesn’t speak English or German, and when we went looking for her, we couldn’t find her. Our booking was for a room with one regular bed and a small one, but we were given a room with just one bed. The rooms are unlocked unless somebody is already inside, so in theory you could sleep there for free. It’s also in the middle of nowhere.

The breakfast was good, and the room where it’s served is pleasant too. The owner was friendly. A handy base for visiting the Black Forest.

We really liked the people here, and the restaurant food was great. The place itself is beautiful, too.
