Kohlers Hotel Engel

We ended up here for two days after our campervan started acting up on the way to our campground while climbing a mountain. We struggled to find anywhere to sleep because everything was closed or on holiday. Thank goodness my boyfriend managed to find people to help and heard about this hotel, which had a room for us at a slightly lower rate because of the inconvenience. We appreciated that. We paid 119 euros a night. The food was good, though a bit expensive, as you’d expect at a 3-star hotel. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and did their best to make a difficult situation better. They helped us arrange a taxi and find a garage, among other things. Breakfast was included and really nice, with salmon and lots of other delicious things. There’s also a sauna open from 15:00 to 22:00. They were very helpful, and I’d recommend the place if I weren’t visiting under those circumstances!

I haven’t stayed in the rooms, but I’ve eaten at the restaurant many times and always had a really good experience. The food is tasty, usually traditional German dishes, and the beer is great. The menu is limited, but there’s something for everyone. Service is really good, and the people in local clothing are very pleasant and cute.

The hotel had a comfortable, clean room and a small gym. Breakfast was okay, and I appreciated having both dry and wet sauna rooms.

A really nice place to stay, with cozy rooms equipped with everything you need. The service at reception and in the breakfast area was perfect. They serve good black coffee at breakfast too.
