The setting is wonderfully local and distinctive, and we left very happy after a peaceful, cosy stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, with its own small fridge, coffee station, microwave, and a lovely view of Schwarzwald. Downstairs, there's a breakfast room and a restaurant. Breakfast is available to everyone and was quite good, with local Marmelade and Schinken. The restaurant is open on working days, and we enjoyed the popular steak. You can also ask to have food brought to your room. The hosts were sweet and attentive, and the place is family-run. The rooms and apartments, including ones with kitchens, are well equipped and well maintained. We stayed in a room, which had everything we needed. Across the street there's a great playground, handy if you're travelling with toddlers. We recommend it for a couple of quiet nights, and the hosts have clearly put a lot of care into it.

The hosts are especially friendly and do their best to make the stay pleasant, and the service is excellent. Breakfast is good, though fresh bakery rolls and more choice of cold cuts and cheese would have been nice. The accommodation is very well located for hikes in the Northern Black Forest. The apartments are thoughtfully laid out and have enough space, but noise carries a lot.

A lovely family-run place in a beautiful setting, especially suited to hikers. The rooms are very clean, and our apartment has plenty of space. Breakfast has a broad selection and can be tailored to individual tastes. When the restaurant is open, don't miss the rump steaks. They aren't assembly-line food: the chef prepares them himself, and they're tender and superb.
