Grüner Baum

The service was really nice and the food was good, though it’s pretty pricey. The appetizers were especially small for what they cost, while everything else was priced pretty normally.

The kitchen serves tasty food at breakfast and dinner, and breakfast is included in the price. The hot water takes at least five minutes to come through. Pressure is low, too, and it makes a sound like it might blow up :).

I’m still at this hotel, unfortunately. It’s supposedly a 3 star hotel, but it feels like a nightmare. On my first day there was a lovely woman who spoke English. Since then, I’ve had to practise German just to make myself understood by the staff. The room looks acceptable at first, but checking it more closely, it’s disgusting and terrible. There’s dust on the picture frames, ventilation system, and shelf beneath the tabletop. The shower head is disgusting (see pict), and the green carpet is covered in black, white, and grey spots (see pict). The reading lamps are mounted directly above my head, and I’ve hit my head four times so far (see pict). I asked for an iron and ironing board. They brought me a towel instead of a board, put it on the table, and told me to iron there. If I hang the “please do not disturb me” sign on the door, I can’t close it without a tricky, sudden movement. I arrived on Monday and it’s now Saturday, but breakfast has been the same every day. Today I asked for scrambled eggs, and they said they couldn’t make them because the kitchen is closed on weekends. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL!!!!

The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice hotel with a good restaurant.
