The team is so friendly and seems to know what you need before you even ask. Friesenhof is a great base for walks along the kays, jogging, swimming in the indoor pool, or working out in the gym. It’s right by the Nordic sea side, with a beautiful balcony view, and about an hour’s drive from Hamburg. Büsum itself is a lovely fishing village with great restaurants and summer apartments. The hotel has good food and is known for its hospitality. Whether you’re here for work, with kids, for a family reunion, on vacation, or bringing your dog, it feels like the right place. Looking forward to the next adventure!

The buffet was great and reasonably priced, and the wine and beer were too. The rooms all seemed the same to me, with lovely views over the ocean, and the workers were nice. It’s a luxurious hotel, though the minibar is pretty expensive, so bring your own snacks. WiFi comes from one router for every two rooms, with speeds around 2mb download and 1mb upload, which was okay. Five stars for a four star hotel, definitely recommended!

The sea is just two steps away, and you can rent German beachchairs (Strandkörbe) for €7 a day. They’re handy for keeping out of the wind. It was our first visit to the North Sea, and we were keen to see the tides, especially low tide and the Wattenmeer. The hotel was what we expected, with spacious, comfortable rooms. The spa area with sauna and pool is free to use, and parking and WiFi are free as well. For four of us, I paid €168 per room per night in high season, including a very good breakfast.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, with top service and good food. I spent Christmas there, and would say it’s perfect for all sessions. The little town nearby and the waterfront are gorgeous places to visit, too.

The spa treatments were excellent, and the pool was nice. I was disappointed with the food, though. The rooms were clean, but the interiors felt boring, and unfortunately our view was over a roof.
