Apartment Karlo 4, May 9, 2025 to May 13, 2025 On Monday at noon, landscapers arrived without any warning, with a mower and a noisy brush cutter. Any outside company hired should ideally have an up-to-date occupancy plan. The garden patio door badly needs servicing and adjustment, and the garden table is rusted through in several places. There are no smoke or fire alarms in the bedrooms. As far as I know, those have been required since 2010. The guest information was basically a single DIN A4 page. It says changing the television channels will cost €50, yet the reception was extremely poor and there were no instructions. The folder mostly had local restaurant menus and flyers dating from 2022 to 2024. In the entryway, a bulletin board still displayed the new 2018-2019 waste collection schedule.

Good location in Büsum and the organization was straightforward. The holiday apartment was lovely and spacious, with a big balcony, a garage for our bikes, and a parking space for the car right in front of the house.

Apartment No. 3 was functionally furnished, with kitchen utensils and cleaning products provided. It's in a good spot, central but very quiet. We only got a weekend there by paying an extra €40, as the minimum stay is three nights even in the off-season. We travel a lot, and things like washing dishes, taking the rubbish out, and turning off the heating before leaving are common sense. But when we opened the information folder to look for the Wi-Fi password, the wording of the house rules really shocked us. It says there's a €50 charge if the TV channels are changed, along with the departure instructions. The tone between the lines felt inappropriate.

We stayed in Haus Karlo, Apartment 3, with our dog and child, and would love to return. The rain shower and the height-adjustable box spring bed in the main bedroom were a dream. Having the fenced garden entirely to ourselves was perfect with a dog, and the kitchen was very well equipped. It's a comfortable place, and we even came away with a couple of ideas for improvements at home. We were happy to walk to the town center and the lake, about 15-20 minutes with a child, though driving is an option too. Parking in Büsum is good and inexpensive compared with other Hessian town centers. There's a good bakery just 150 meters away.
