The rooms at The Glöcklhofer are comfortable and well insulated, though they have carpet, which I'm not a fan of. The hotel has a spa and sits about 1 km from the old town, close to the castle in Burghousen.

Don't miss the hotel restaurant. The decor is lovely, the food was delicious, and the staff there were amazing. The hotel facilities are great too, and the location is very convenient.

The cleaning staff do a really thorough job. I saw one of the cleaners scrubbing the bathroom on her knees, and the room was spotless. Everyone I encountered was kind and patient. Mirela Nedel at reception was especially helpful, working hard to make sure I was comfortable. I'm from the US, and she was patient with the language barrier and speaks English very well. The hotel is next to the long mile Castle. If I came back, I'd stay here again. Glocklhoffer Hotel in Burghausen is excellent, and Mirela Nedel deserves kudos, along with the rest of the staff. You won't be disappointed.

The mattress felt like a hammock, and it was odd that reception had no first aid box when someone asked for a plaster. Still, the staff were very friendly. The hotel's location is excellent, the breakfast was delicious, and the personnel were welcoming. I didn't get to see the spa area, but I'd like to next time.
