Hotel Am Friesenstrand

We mostly relaxed by the well-heated pool, which has changing rooms and spare towels so you can leave your room towels alone. Our balcony room was roomy and very clean, and breakfast was especially good, with attentive staff. The hotel sits right on the dike, with several restaurants close by and a handy board listing their hours, phone numbers, and even reviews. There’s lots of parking, and the bus stops almost at the door. The in-room folder also has outings sorted by things like child-friendly and rainy-day options, which saved us a lot of internet searching. Some parts could use updating, but everything was neat and worked properly. We had a lovely New Year’s break and would happily return to Hotel Am Friesenstrand.

Our week at the hotel flew by, and we’d gladly recommend it. I was there with my mother Ruth, who is 92, from April 12-18, 2026, and I’m 64. We can confirm the positive comments others have made. The indoor pool came in handy when the weather turned bad; in better weather, the beach and playground were just a short walk away, so our son had plenty to do. This was our second stay, and like our visit two years earlier, the room, breakfast, service, and everything else were excellent. Even with changeable weather, we had a wonderful holiday and felt very welcome.

We found this place while making a last-minute plan for a North Sea getaway. The rooms were bright, clean, and had really comfortable beds, and the building itself felt clean and modern. The hotel’s right on the dike. The owner and staff were lovely, and breakfast was excellent. We’d definitely stay again.
