Hotel Am Stadtpark

The restaurant is excellent for dinner, and the breakfast spread is fabulous, with fresh bread, sliced meats, cheeses, wursts, and jams. There’s also a nice outdoor area for relaxing with a beer or two. The rooms are very clean and a good size, with lovely, comfortable beds. German pillows feel a bit thin and soft to me, but that’s just my preference. I put a fresh folded towel from the bathroom under mine to get the height and firmness I like. The staff are lovely and nothing seems too much trouble. From the moment you arrive at reception, there’s a feeling of quiet efficiency. They smile through my rather poor German, then wait until they’re out of earshot to giggle at my mangling of their language. Most speak excellent English, but where’s the fun in that? I’ve stayed at the Hotel am Stadtpark a few times over the years while visiting nearby Nottensdorf, and never had an issue.

We stayed last weekend for a family celebration, and the breakfast buffet was the highlight. It was laid out with so much care and detail, just fabulous. The gentleman I think was the owner was friendly and attentive. Everything was spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

For 11 euros per person, this is an amazing price for a really good breakfast. It’s high quality and made with regional products.

It’s starting to feel a bit old, but still a good hotel. It’s fresh and nice.
